Over the last three decades, Nanoimprint Lithography has developed from pioneering academic research into an industrially relevant manufacturing technology. This development leads to an increasing importance in science and industry.

We cordially invite you to participate in this unique event on Nanoimprint Technology: the merger of the renowned conferences international NNT Conference and European NIL Industrial Day in 2024.

The joint conference honors the world’s first nanoimprint workshop held in Lund in 2000, which laid the foundation for the international NNT conference series.

By merging the two events, we strive to further strengthen the global NIL ecosystem.

Date: June 24 to 27, 2024
Location: “The Medicon Village” in Lund, Sweden

The Interreg Project AT-CZ “PredMAIn – AI-based Predictive Maintenance” invites to the first
communication event. Due to the currently increasing COVID numbers this event will be held
ONLINE via MS-Teams.

Predictive maintenance (PdM) is currently considered the top use case of artificial intelligence
(AI) in production. The potential for manufacturing SME is currently not exploited to the full
extent. This is mostly due to a lack of prerequisites for utilizing AI by SME, such as an easy
and uncomplicated application by the user on site. Therefore, the project goal is to create
general and transferable knowledge for manufacturing SME about AI-based predictive
maintenance systems.

In the first communication event, we will present the approach and potential for SME and
would like to collect their specific requirements in discussion rounds in order to incorporate
them into AI development.

We are looking forward to welcoming you at the 1st PredMAIn Communication Event.

When:      23 MAR 2022, 9am – 12.30pm
Where:     Online
Sign up:   Here on Eventbrite

24h before the event an MS Teams Link will be sent to you.

Meet the Pioneers of Future Fashion in Berlin

User centered and inclusive design approaches in the fashion industry for creating a better tomorrow

The fashion industry is one of the world’s largest polluters. Climate change and the associated desire for significant change brings new challenges for the industry. As a consequence, all those involved are rethinking sourcing, production and distribution processes.

One answer lies in the latest manufacturing technologies that are currently not only changing fashion itself, but also design and production methods. Within 36 months of co-creation, designers and artists, scientists and technology experts were co-researching on the implementation of these new technologies in the fields of fashion and material design, smart textiles and sustainable finishing.

On the 4th of November 2021, the results of these projects are being presented and brought up for discussion at AHOY Berlin, Wattstraße 11, 13355 Berlin. We invite experts, media and interested industry representatives to experience these inspiring outlooks into the future.

TALK: INCLUSIVE DESIGN FOR SOCIAL INNOVATION (1:30 pm):

In an inspiring talk with design curator Anna BERNAGOZZI, artist and designer Hellen VAN REES and NAME FROM CORPORATE future challenges in (fashion) design with a focus on social and sustainable goals.

OPEN GALLERY: PIONEERS OF FUTURE FASHION AND FASHION-TECH (3:00 pm):

The talk is followed by a presentation of the 20+ projects within the framework of START-S Lighthouse project RE-FREAM. Experience the prototypes in presence of the co-creation teams, connect with inspiring and pioneering artists and designers and discuss the results of these unique collaborations.

Find out more about the event and the Re-FREAM projects on www.re-fream.eu

REGISTER FOR FREE HERE (including finger food and drinks): https://www.eventbrite.com/e/pioneers-of-future-fashion-tickets-195789390337 – limited participation! First come – first served!

COVID19-INFO: We follow the German 3G-Regulation (vaccinated, recovered, negative test) at registration.

Re-FREAM – new concepts for the future of fashion

As a pillar of the STARTS Programme (Science + Technology + Arts) of the European Commission, Re-FREAM invited artists and designers to team up with a community of scientists to rethink the manufacturing process of the fashion industry. www.starts.eu

The M3d+it Conference – Medical 3D Printing and Innovative Technologies in Linz on 02.-03.12.2021, will be an online event with live streaming, where 30 eminent experts in the fields of medicine, additive manufacturing, materials, medical device design and simulation, and tissue engineering will present results from their current research and projects.

In the framework of the M3d+it conference, face-to-face meetings will be scheduled as video conferences. These pre-scheduled B2B meetings offer an ideal opportunity to find potential cooperation partners and establish interesting business and research contacts. Every participant selects his conversation partners individually and has 20 minutes to exchange about projects and products.

After a session dedicated to current EU projects related to the topic of regenerative medicine and 3D printing in medicine, there will be a networking event, to find synergies and common grounds for future collaborations.

Topic Group Name: “Robotics for Sustainability and Environmental Aspects”

Motivation

There is a lack of understanding, active research and definition on the aspect of Sustainability (social, ecological and economic) and the role of robotics. The EU commission is very much interested in pursuing the topics of Sustainable Development Goals and the European Green Deal, which is reflected in the Horizon Europe programme.

Exploiting robotics for sustainability can be done by making  robots  themselves  more  sustainable. Additionally, robots have skills such as strength, precision and sensing often surpassing those of humans. Combining the physical endurance of the robots with the cognitive flexibility of humans in a collaborative fashion is advantageous in different applications that enable sustainability and support environmental aspects.

With this as motivation, we would like to explore the interest of euRobotic member institutions in contributing to the topic group.

Activities of the Topic Group

The following activities are foreseen for contributing members:

  • The initial activities would include discussions and active participation in defining relevant aspects of Sustainability and Environmental aspects and what is the role of robotics in achieving them
  • In the long run, the topic group will create use cases and collect challenges
  • Representing the topic group by organizing workshop (E.g., @ ERF)
  • Contributing to the RoadMap for the EU Commission

How can you contribute?

The Topic group is open for all interested members from academia and industry alike who would like to contribute. Just send the topic group leaders an email to be included and receive more details.
