PROFACTOR Installs Step-and-Repeat Nanoimprint Stepper at FZU Prague to Enable Scalable Nanofabrication

PROFACTOR NIL Stepper installed at FZU Cleanroom

High-precision nanostructures are essential for cutting-edge research, next-generation photonics, life science technologies, and advanced functional devices.

Research Challenges

However, transferring nanoscale patterning from small research samples to larger substrates remains a major technical challenge.

Precision is difficult.

Scalability is challenging.

Reproducibility is essential.

Without reliable step-and-repeat capability, researchers often face:

  • Long processing times
  • Inconsistent replication quality
  • Limited throughput

Bridging this gap is crucial for advancing nanofabrication from laboratory research to real-world applications.

Nanoimprint Stepper

In collaboration with Prof. Dostalek, PROFACTOR has successfully delivered and commissioned a Step-and-Repeat Nanoimprint Stepper at the Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences (FZU) in Prague.

The new system provides Prof. Dostalek’s research team with precise and repeatable nanoimprint lithography capability across larger substrates, bringing scalable nanopatterning into their research environment.

Step-and-Repeat Nanoimprint Lithography (NIL) enables high-resolution pattern replication by pressing a nanostructured stamp into a thin UV-curable polymer layer and curing it with ultraviolet light.

By accurately repeating this process across the substrate, researchers can now fabricate complex nanostructures with:

  • Higher patterning precision
  • Increased throughput and reproducibility
  • Real-time observation during the imprinting process

The Result

Greater process control.

Improved reproducibility.

A clearer path from research to practical application.

Researchers at FZU will use the new NIL Stepper for nanofluidic and life science applications.

We look forward to supporting FZU in advancing scalable nanofabrication and enabling new opportunities for both scientific research and industrial collaboration.
