Mechatronics Engineer / Automation Technician for Industrial Plants (m/f/d)

Manual inspections in the production process are error-prone, time-consuming, and costly. High-quality optical inspection and automation solutions, developed over many years at PROFACTOR, enable high-quality assurance in the production process of the future and are gaining increasing importance in the development towards Industry 5.0.
To strengthen our team in this field of activity, we are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic about automation solutions in a young, dynamic team, enjoy challenges, and have organizational talent.
Your Responsibilities
- You design optical systems using our standard components to match customer requirements and contribute your innovative ideas for special solutions – including flexible working hours and home office options.
- To ensure project results, you independently conduct preliminary studies and feasibility analyses with our test and laboratory setups at the company site and present them to our customers.
- You create the system software, parameterize the systems, and program special solutions for specific customer requests.
- Commissioning and optimizing the inspection systems you prepared, both in-house and at our customers’ sites, is enjoyable for you and supports your professional development.
- You see customer contact during acceptance tests and training as an opportunity to gain valuable practical experience and learn about different requirements.
- You enjoy working in a team, actively contributing your ideas, benefiting from shared knowledge, and being part of collective success.
Your Qualifications
- Completed technical education (technical college, HTL, FH, university) in mechatronics, automation technology, physics/chemistry, computer science, or similar, with a strong interest in automation technology and image processing.
- C++, C#, Python, or knowledge of comparable programming languages (PLC knowledge is desirable).
- Experience or knowledge in image processing and camera technology (electronics) is advantageous.
- Additional knowledge in project management, robotics, and inkjet printing is also welcome.
- Very good German and good English skills.
- Driving license B and willingness to travel (primarily DACH region) up to approx. 25%.
- Structured way of working and innovative-analytical thinking skills.

For this position, a minimum annual collective agreement salary of €33,880.00 gross is offered for full-time employment. Depending on qualifications or professional experience, there is a willingness to overpay.
