Are you interested in getting involved in current research projects focusing on motion capturing technology within human centered workplaces, partially co-working environments with robots?
One of our research areas is the recognition and digitization of human actions and activities just by watching with single camera systems without additional change of the environment, i.e. no markers etc.
Technically, our goal is visual understanding. We are software developers using computer vision and deep learning, either implementing state-of-the-art research in industrial use cases or inventing new approaches in various research projects. Work with us and benefit from expert knowledge in classical computer vision and artificial intelligence (AI), and be part of the amazing new trends in AI.
For this master thesis proposal, we would like to focus on specific use cases where the position of worker’s hands should be detected and tracked by a single camera. Based on the recognized hand trajectories in 2D/3D, various subsequent interpretations e.g. activity recognition should be tested and evaluated.
Your tasks
You would
- be co-worker of one of our senior experts (your mentor) in this area.
- do recherche work to get to know and understand existing work.
- re-use, implement and/or customize/develop (new) approaches to be suitable for the target use case.
- perform specific setups in our laboratory to tests various approaches
We are looking for
Motivated students with a hands-on mentality in the field of software engineering, computer vision, artificial intelligence, mathematics, physics, or similar studies
We offer
- flexible working hours
- the chance to be part of a young, interdisciplinary and cooperative team
