Its objective is to significantly increase the digital maturity of manufacturing companies (industry, agriculture, forestry, and the timber sector) with up to 3,000 employees and to accelerate their digital transformation with a strong focus on artificial intelligence. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The hub addresses manufacturing SMEs and mid-sized companies whose level of digitalisation and AI adoption is still significantly below its full potential. AI5innovation targets this gap by offering a comprehensive support portfolio across the four EDIH service pillars: \u201ctest before invest\u201d through 26 laboratory infrastructures, training and upskilling, support to find investment, and networking within the European innovation ecosystem. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the core is a holistic, human-centred AI transformation: AI solutions are designed to support rather than replace employees, improve working conditions, enable green transformation and the circular economy, and at the same time comply with safety, data protection, and regulatory requirements. To this end, AI5innovation integrates leading AI Factories as well as testing and experimentation facilities to provide companies with access to state-of-the-art AI infrastructure and expertise. <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Project objectives and technical innovation<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The key objective of EDIH AI5innovation is to enhance the digital and AI maturity of manufacturing companies along the entire value chain, ranging from brownfield installations to new Industry 5.0 systems.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The main objectives and innovations are:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Human-centred AI in manufacturing<\/strong>: AI-based digitalisation for human-centred working environments, \u201chuman-in-the-loop\u201d approaches, the reduction of technology-related fears, and the ethically responsible use of AI.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Test-before-invest on top-tier infrastructure<\/strong>: high-quality TBI services with clear KPIs, ranging from laboratory environments to real-world deployment, including integration with TEFs and AI Factories. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Scalable upskilling<\/strong>: demand-driven, tailor-made training formats to equip more than 2,000 people with AI, data, and cybersecurity skills.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Stimulating investments<\/strong>: guidance on funding opportunities, investors, and financial instruments to trigger investment decisions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Technology fields<\/strong>: Human-centred AI, predictive maintenance, AI-based vision systems, data-centric AI engineering, and AI-based software and system engineering.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Benefits for the market, research, and end users<\/h3>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>For companies (SMEs and mid-caps): free, low-threshold services to support the digitalisation of manufacturing \u2013 ranging from initial consultations and maturity assessments to AI-based test-before-invest projects and training programmes.
