Our technological developments optimize the production of renowned industrial partners.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Photochromic materials enable reversible color changes when exposed to light of specific wavelengths. In the REPIX project, a novel AI-assisted exposure system is developed to control spatially resolved photochromic state transitions on functional surfaces.<br\/>The project combines physics-based optical modeling with reinforcement learning to enable intelligent light control strategies for industrial applications. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Your Tasks<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The goal of this thesis is to contribute to the development of a simulation-driven AI control framework for photochromic light<br\/>patterning.<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Further development of a physics-based 2D simulation of photochromic thin films<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Integration of experimentally measured material parameters<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Development and implementation of a reinforcement learning framework for exposure control<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Design of state and action spaces for light modulation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Definition of reward functions for color accuracy and pattern fidelity<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Evaluation of sim-to-real transfer strategies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The exact focus (simulation vs. RL emphasis) can be adapted based on the candidate\u2019s strengths.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Your Qualifications<\/h2>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Strong experience in Artificial Intelligence \/ Machine Learning<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Solid programming skills in Python<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience with ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch or TensorFlow)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Independent and structured working style<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Background in physics, optics, photonics, or spectroscopy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">We offer<\/h2>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Work in a cutting-edge AI + functional materials research project<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collaboration with industrial partners<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Flexible working hours<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Integration into an interdisciplinary research team<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Access to experimental validation data<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Start\/ Duration<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now \/ Duration of 6 months (extendable depending on performance)<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Our Mission<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">PROFACTOR\u2019s research improves the competitiveness of European Industry.
