Process Monitoring and Control
Cameras are used increasingly to monitor production lines and machines. Image data is mainly interpreted by supervisory staff. PROFACTOR develops methods to allow the analysis of video images by automatic, semiautomatic or manual processes as well as interpretation by software.
Adapting to the Environment
The idea is to detect whether processes are deviating significantly from their normal sequence. However, the results of the image analysis can also be used to control machines, allowing them to respond to their environments. This includes positioning systems or tool control systems that modify their programming to automatically reflect the shape or position of a part. Both 2D and 3D cameras are used for this purpose.
