ARG Methods

ARG Methods Lower Production Costs

After using the ARG® method, it is possible to separate shavings waste and send it to material recycling due to the sorting accuracy.  The production costs are lowered as a result, especially for aluminium-magnesium composite materials, because the separated shavings are used as raw material. We use the different material properties of magnesium and aluminium with this technology in order to separate a shavings mix that until now was not recyclable or only recyclable to a very limited extent.

This technology was developed for manufacturing companies in the metals processing industry and for recycling and disposal companies. With these companies, aluminium-magnesium alloy mix fractions often arise from shavings created during production that have to be recycled or disposed of. The technology from PROFACTOR is a new approach that protects resources and lowers production costs both economically as well as ecologically. So far, it has not been possible to use other methods to achieve the purity of separated fractions that is achieved with the ARG® method.

A semi-continuous lab facility has been in operation and available at PROFACTOR since 2008 for demonstration and test purposes.

The ARG® method was registered for a patent in Austria and Europe in 2005 and was awarded patents AT501 329 and EP1 695 765. Another patent relating to up-scale and systems technology is currently in the patent process.
